Helicopter Mutant Men

Green

The finest color I have ever seen

With my blue eyes

I’ve seen the rainbows flash across the sky

It's filled with ice

Sparkles in the frozen night

Searching for the light

I know that there are mutant men

I’ve seen them on TV

I’ve seen them in the Laundromat and

I think that they’ve seen me

Because I’ve caught them sleeping in my bed

I hear them hovering overhead tonight

Searching for the light

The Sun
Is the reason for every single thing you’ve ever done

To stay alive

People used to die when they were thirty

Five hundred years ago

Lived a man who we all think we know but we don’t know

The reason that he’d spend his life

Searching through the lonely lonely sky

To teach us how to fly

The machines that we’ve built since then

Have speeded up the pace

They tell us what we want to hear

Keep us in our place

The are using up our memory

Taking up our space

You can pluck the passion from your heart and

Stick it in your carry-on case

Machines

We try to recreate our dreams again

We simply act like mutant men

Designing more machines to make our tools

But they see us for the fools we are

Machines will surely triumph in the end

We’ve started imitating them

The helicopter mutant men
Come down and take their place

They live among the scenery

Within the human race

They are using up our energy

Taking up our space

They can suck the love out of your heart

Wipe that stupid grin right off your face

Green, green

The finest color I’ve ever seen

Seen with my blue eyes

I’ve seen the rainbows flash across the sky

It's filled with ice

It sparkles in the frozen night

Searching for the light

Searching for the patience that we need

To tame our awesome might

We go on living now

Peel that membrane back somehow to find

The other 85 percent

Of our teeny-tiny minds

Where we separate the wrongness from the right

We go on searching for the light

I know that there are mutant men

I’ve seen them on TV

I’ve seen them in the Laundromat and

I think that they’ve seen me

Because I’ve caught them sleeping in my bed

I hear them hovering overhead tonight

Searching for the light

The helicopter mutant men
Come down and take their place

They live among the scenery

Within the human race

They are using up our energy

Taking up our space

They can suck the love out of your heart

Rip the flesh right off your face

I guess that we're all mutant men

'Cause I've been on TV

I've seen you in the parking lot

I know that you've seen me

Because I've caught you thinking in my head

I hear you hovering overhead tonight

Searching for the light
